Lead Painter
Position Summary
A lead painter oversees and performs skilled painting tasks while managing a crew to ensure high-quality workmanship and efficient project completion. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role requires advanced painting experience, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all aspects of commercial/industrial painting, including surface preparation, priming, brushing, rolling, spraying, drywall repair, and power washing with precision and efficiency.
- Lead, train, and delegate tasks to the painting crew to maximize productivity and maintain high-quality standards.
- Track employee attendance, appearance, performance, and training needs.
- Maintain and ensure proper use of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with material orders and inventory as needed.
- Address client inquiries and concerns professionally; escalate issues to the Project Manager when necessary.
- Review project plans and specifications to develop a work plan, including crew size, sequencing, and timelines.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including PPE and compliance with OSHA, CCS, and company policies.
- Participate in all required training, including OSHA, Lift Training, CPR/First Aid, and weekly safety meetings.

- Critical Thinking & Troubleshooting – Analyze challenges and apply logical solutions.
- Reliability & Integrity – Strong work ethic, punctuality, and professionalism.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Smart cell phone for mobile clock-in/out.
- Basic painting tools and work boots.
- Willingness to work 45+ hours per week during peak season, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Physical Requirements: stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stretch, twist, and reach; climb ladders, scaffolding and staircases; lift and carry heavy objects
